A: This painting is called “Composition 8” and is a geometric abstraction. It was created in 1923 by Wassily Kandinsky. I chose this because of all the shapes, objects, and colors in this artwork. I see circles, triangles, squares, long/short sticks or lines, a picture, etc. B: In this artwork, the shapes and objects are very close to each other and they all have a place. The shapes like circles and triangles are repeated multiple times throughout this picture. Kandinsky uses different colors like red, blue, yellow, and black several times. All the shapes are going in different direction and he uses oil on canvas. Its size is 55.1 x 79.1 “. C: This abstract art by Kandinsky was inspired by WW1. When he returned to his native Moscow his artwork began to reflect his experiments in the Russian avant-garde.
